You can subscribe to the game for small amount, say $12 per year, and with a subscription in stead of quests or amulets you get some gold. Just a thought to solve both the business issue and the free gold issue.

Also, once you have 50 cities or some number, auroras blessing should be free. To be honest, I bought it once and never will again because although helpful, it didn't add that much.

162 cities and no Aurora's Blessing. I agree, it should be free after a certain number of cities or points. I think 50 cities is too low though.
