I suggested catapults before, used in the same way as scholars but destroy a city instead of conquering

Don't know about the catapults fighting armies seeing as though in real life they were used to destroy walls and buildings (and any people lost was just a bonus). I like the ability to destroy cities though. Means I don't have to waste a scholar in a city I don't necessarily want

Yeah I've seen suggestions for when you conquer a city you can choose to burn it down. But that's scholar and scholarships wasted. catapults or trebuchets would be nice. Maybe as a unit upgrade you can choose to use fire projectiles to burn the city down.

The problem with a unit destroying a city is It eliminates a whole area of gameplay. A lot of guild resources go into defending an newly capped city and the perpetual tug of war that exists is often times what makes the game fun.

With the scholarship system that is currently implemented, it becomes progressively more difficult to capture cities; how would PlayMesh keep the ability to destroy everything in check?

I don't think it's a bad idea to destroy a city, I just think it's a bad idea to do it with a unit, such as a catapult.

Agreed destroying a city destroys a section of gameplay.thats why its should be an upgrade.
