Arhers could have higher defense against rams and ballistae! They could each cost 1000 of a unit then have high defense against war machines to help stop the destruction of buildings.

I like that idea a lot. They'd probably be trained under barracks correct?

Ya. They could be the most expensive barracks unit maybe 2 food and 1k of each unit.

In my opinion I believe that archers should be added but should have a cap limit on how many you can have in each city so that players can't go crazy about them. 2 if they add archers don't make them cost more and they should cost around two food at the most. 3 they be for attack and defence but if you were gonna have them for attack you could only use like a 2000 units in each wave. This what I think about adding archers

Solution for everything, archers are useles in the attack but worth gold in defence.

They should react on other units's rescearch level due to armor, read the texts in you forge, most of them talk about upgrade in armor and arrows dont penetrate armor so well, right?

So let them loose defence strenght when opponents research is higher

I think that archers would be cool as defenders cost about 1k of each unit two food cost buildings( like a level 10 wall) and be good at defending against rams and ballistai. They'd be useless in attack.
I think this isnt rediculous amd adds a new bit of strategy to the game.

The idea of archers defending/supporting the wall appeals to me. Perhaps, recruiting archers is essentially a direct counter to rams and ballistas. Being an infantry unit, only 1 food should be required and the price has to be reasonable --- heavy on wood and clay, low on iron.

The big thing though is their has to be a distinction between what an archer does opposed to other units. Maybe, have them have BOTH a low attack and defense, but similar to a ram, they strike first before calculating the outcome of a battle. Basically Rams and Archers hit at the same time, followed by all other units.

Here's my idea, Instead of archers (they seem to counteract on defensive units) rogues should be added ... Now rouges would have a cap on builds and would require a high level wall and forge, but would would attack at the same times rams do and are able to dismantle a percentage of the siege units, make them cost two food and be about 300-400 each resource and choose an amount ie 100=10 percent ? What do you guys think
