Suggestion: Get rid of the word filter for guild forums

Either remove the word filter completely for guild forums (they are internal, no one has to be in a guild, and if a member is posting things that the guild finds offensive then the guild can simply kick that player and take their cities), or please put a *reason* why you can't post what you're trying to post. A simple, "The word 'xyz' is not allowed to be posted. Please choose another word" would suffice.

But when I've typed up a post that contains no foul words, trying to determine what is triggering the filter is frustrating.

Here is the message I was typing. If anyone can figure out what is wrong with it, I'd love to hear...

"Xyz guild sure does love it's chaos strategy.

I saw someone on here mention that Playmesh considers this ban worthy. I checked the forums this morning and their forums mods and admins are stating that while it is an issue that playmesh is looking into, it must currently be considered a legit strategy.

Anyone know what's up?"

* Xyz above is simply the name of a guild we're at war with, and is not an offensive name by any stretch.

Addendum to above, the error message I am receiving is, "The body is invalid. Please rephrase and try again."

Not helpful.

Totally agree, i was on the edge to write exact same question with my text and ask if someone see any "dirty" words in it. Atleast tell us what we are not able to write :(

The tone of this thread is perfect for things that should be looked in to. Being able to have the individual word that is being called out can help with a post to the forums, would make a long or detailed post easier to edit.
This is a good suggestion. Trying to find that proverbial "needle" in said haystack could be very frustrating.

I had this problem again this morning, where the message i wrote was something like.

"City is capped but i cant see it yet, guess its taking a little longer time because playmesh is updating."

So guess whats invalide in this body :) i just changed the word "playmesh" and used valor instead, then it worked perfect

It is probably in there so someone doesn't try and make a login name or city name of PlayMesh.

Looking into making not just the guild forums but all communication in Valor better is something we are always working on.

I assume the word filter is descended from the one used for the iMafia, heroes type games, it was probably banned to make it harder for nasty things to be said about them. Charles Ju's name was also on the list.

Well, if someone wants to say something nasty about them, they will find a way. Disallowing the use of "playmesh" just strikes me as overly sensitive and not in a good way. It is also equally difficult to say something like, "Wow, playmesh has really made a great game!" The difference, of course, is the haters already hate; banning the word isn't going to incense them any more. But the people that like the game that find their message unable to be sent because they used the name "playmesh?" I expect their opinion will be somewhat lowered.

I'd submit that this is a problem. Hopefully thinbgs are more in line of what Orlor has said, and that the communication aspects can be tweaked to be more open and friendly.
