Be able to build a moat

I think that since you have a moat outside of your city at city 40k points, why not be able to build one yourself when your city reaches 40k points?
It should go up to level 10 and with each level it would decrease the enemy troops attack efficiency. (meaning the troops attack total) level 10 should be a 10% enemy attack total reduction, meaning each upgrade reduces the enemies attack total by 1%.
Anyone like the idea???

No. I prefer those larger cities to remain as vulnerable as they are now. Helps me ID likely targets.

Agreed firefall. It seems some ideas recently have been trying to make a city invulnerable. That's just the direct ideas. More indirect ones. But, call me old-fashioned, I believe that the best way to protect a city is with ordinary troops and a wall

Old fashion back then included moats. And it is merely an idea as 40k points takes a while to get to. It's not like the suggestion was overkill with 25% attack reduction. 10% is nothing. 1 zerk loses only 5 attack points. 1 guard only loses 11 attack points. 20k zerks have 900k attack points compared to 1m. 5k guards have 517.5k points compared to 575k attack points. If anything it is reasonable and not an overkill of an idea. Just puts more strategy into play.

Old fashioned back then included dysentry, plague, and starving defenders out. If you get your moat, I should get the ability to catapult plague infested corpses into your city or poison your water supply.

Granted, I'm being sarcastic here. Let's not make the game any more intricate, at least until well after we stop getting "Oof" errors, conjure up the Internet errors, and everything else.

I was talking old-fashioned as in valor not medieval times. But if you want to go that route, please explain to me why troops would not have fought to their fullest extent.

Also, I'd be pretty ticked off if my troops lost attack power for some unknown reason.

I think it could be a first city bonus.

That I like - provided it only confer to the conquerer IF it had a moat when it was conquered. Sort of like a capture the flag thing. I think it would make folks even more agressive. However, there would have to be some way to differentiate it from the other fortresses. I wouldn't mind the 10% defensive bonus if it was set up like that.

Ok. So it would apply to only one city. I like it
