Purchasing victories

World 84 is my 4th world. I was one f the top players when 39 came to a close.

In the
Last 2 worlds I have been taken out by players who have obviously purchased their way to victory.
Not just by using prestige, but by having grown at at least twice the maximum possible.
I don't mind losing, it's part of what makes a game fun. But it is no longer fun when you have no chance of winning without spending up big.

I've decided to uninstall Valor, I will no longer be fodder for "wallet players". This poor business model has ruined the game.
I get that the devs have to make money but there are other options than buying your wins.
I saw a popular FB game collapse after a few years when the same thing happened. The bulk of players gave up knowing they could be taken out at any time by someone willing to pay enough. In the end the game died.

What about making cosmetic options available by purchase, but lose the ability to buy your wins? Other game devs are doing this and it makes the games more enjoyable.

I think this statement right here shows that our game is pretty well balanced.

Can you get an edge by purchasing gold? Yes especially in the early game.

The fact that you were able to be one of the top players without purchasing any gold (I am guessing you don't from your post) is pretty awesome.

This shows that with time and strategy you can beat any other player.

I think the key to competing or beating the big(ger) money players is to wait a few days from when the world starts before joining. Get on the outskirts and let the big money players cut each other to pieces in the center of the world while you grow on the outskirts.

I'm curious. What's the "maximum possible" growth?

My max growth and his max growth would most likely be very different ;)

I think what he meant was "physically possible" without gold.
Say the world has only been open for a minute but a player has completed about 5 hours of building in the queue due to gold. Time wise that's physically impossible without gold.

After a while, that will become cost prohibitive, unless the guy is independently wealthy. Anyone can be taken down if you throw enough troops at them. Bide your time and build your power.

Yeah the guy lost his city very fast.
