City display

I saw on my friends ipod that you cam actually see your city. I cant do this for some reason and it isnt in my settings. This is very frustrating because i cant use all of the features like hiding place. My game is up to date and ive tried both valor and valor hd and reinatalled borh of those multiple times and its stilll not working

What version ipod/ios do you have? The graphical city overview is not available for all types of ipods.

I have a second gen ipod wirh 4.2.1 software. If i am not able to see the city than how can i use things like hiding place

The hiding place is used automatically once you build it. You should still being able to build it from the list in the City Hall button.
