Quest cartoon characters in 2.1

Since upgrading to 2.1, in the city view mode there are now 2 cartoon characters (thuggish warrior and girl with glasses) which appear in bottom right of screen and give me useless tips like "recruit troops" and "upgrade your city hall from level 2 to level 3" (when I'm already on city hall level 29). They also flash, so are very distracting. Does anyone know how to get rid of these? They serv no purpose for me, and are spoiling my enjoyment of the game

And the keep saying valor is updating. Don't mind them if I actually get the rewards.

Yeah, can't even claim any rewards because when you try to it always "valor is updating". This feature may be great for beginners (if it worked), but how does everyone else turn it off??

Agree 100% with OP, distracting me and of no use whatsoever, does not work and can't get rid of it.

Those are part of the new tutorial. It is supposed to only show up to new players but as you have pointed out, everybody is seeing it.

This issue is being looked into so hopefully those will be gone for existing players.

I got rid of it by accident when i did a complete uninstall of valor and reinstall after restarting my iphone. Now there gone

Only for those of us who have gone through all of those steps, just give us the reward.

I did notice the male chacter was rewarding players with troops and gold. If you say its only for beginners. How fair is that when alot of us long loyal players who have bought gold now won't be able to get any gold as rewards.

Keep the gold rewards for everyone

Funny though, on one world I followed the tutorial, added 4 lancers to my existing 1600 lancers and was awarded 5 gold! Only worked that once. Go figure!
