R22 is the centre of a diamond shaped map. It grows from each of the 4 points in a block of 10x10 moving downwards and upwards diagonally. The right hand tip has two landing points that move up and left, and down and left. The left tip moves similarly. When a block fills the adjoining diagonal block starts to fill. All the landing blocks move around the same pace and opposite each other. When the top or bottom is reached the blocks start back at the opposite tip again one layer out.
If you choose NE you will land anywhere from the right tip to the bottom diagonal of the diamond shape.
This is the order they fill in, a first, then b,c in four directions, then d,e,f and so on.

To keep all 4 in synch sometimes you'll be thrown into the wrong landing block if you choose a direction. Just do an immediate abandon and restart. If the landing zones near a tip you may end up a long way from earlier jumpers if it restarts and shifts to the next outer layer. In this case wait until the landing zone makes it back to the earlier jumpers. A player already on the map should be able to locate the edges of the map, and partially filled in landing block at any time to let you know where they are up to. The speed of blocks filling up is determined by number of players jumping and the world max population which determines density of the 10x 10 block. Ha ha trivial mystery solved.
